As members of Christ’s body, we’re called not just to attend church but to be the church. God has gifted each of us for the good of others—and when we serve, we reflect the heart of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve.

Serving builds up the church, strengthens our witness, and creates space for others to grow in Christ. Every role matters. So ask yourself: How has God gifted you, and how can you use that to serve His people?

Let’s commit to serving faithfully, for the glory of God and the good of His church.

SUNDAY SERVE TEAM AREAS

KIRKWOOD KIDS
The Kirkwood Kids Team sows and nurtures gospel seeds in the hearts of kids, ages birth through 5th grade. Whether you are praying over infants or investing in elementary aged students, volunteers simply need to be caring mentors who are willing to build relationships, open God’s Word, and facilitate games and activities that help kids experience the truth of the text and the love of Jesus.

HOSPITALITY
The Hospitality Team exists to create a warm and welcoming environment for all who enter our buildings. This team includes those who serve as greeters, staff the Welcome Desk, coordinate refreshments such as coffee and light snacks, and help with special Sundays like Explore Kirkwood or Ask Us Anything gatherings. From preparing coffee to engaging with members and visitors before and after services, the Hospitality Team demonstrates love and care to our church family and guests.

STUDENT LEADERS
The Student Leaders Team partners with parents to disciple students in 6th through 12th grade, investing in the next generation with an eternal perspective. Through supporting student gatherings and leading small groups, leaders help shape hearts and minds to follow Jesus for a lifetime and into eternity.

WORSHIP
The Worship Team is composed of our Music Team, Production Team, and other key roles that help lead our congregation in worship through both musical and other liturgical elements. This team includes vocalists, instrumentalists, A/V assistants, and those who help facilitate parts of the service such as prayer or pass Communion. Together they help create a space where our church can faithfully and meaningfully worship the living God each week.

PRAYER TEAM
The Prayer Team faithfully lifts up the needs of our church, community, and ministries. Some volunteers pray during services, others pray over requests during the week, and some are available to pray with individuals after services. This team helps cultivate a culture of dependence on the Lord through intentional prayer.

SAFETY TEAM
The Safety Team helps ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone who attends Kirkwood. Volunteers may assist with monitoring hallways, helping with parking flow, keeping an eye on entrances, and being prepared to respond in case of emergencies. This team serves quietly but plays an important role in helping families feel comfortable and protected.

FACILITIES / SET-UP TEAM
The Facilities and Set-Up Team helps prepare the building and grounds, so everything is ready for Sunday gatherings and events. Volunteers may help set up tables and chairs, place signage, assist with room transitions, or help with small projects around the building. Their work helps create an environment where ministry can happen smoothly each week.

NON-SUNDAY SERVE TEAMS

GUEST FOLLOW-UP TEAM
The Guest Follow-Up Team helps people move from visiting to belonging. Volunteers may write welcome notes, make friendly follow-up calls, answer questions about next steps, or help guests connect to opportunities like Explore Kirkwood or community groups.

OUTREACH TEAM
The Outreach Team helps Kirkwood engage our local community and participate in mission efforts. Volunteers may help with outreach events, service projects, local partnerships, and opportunities to serve our neighbors throughout the year.

COMMUNICATIONS / CREATIVE TEAM
The Communications and Creative Team supports the church by helping with media, photography, design, and communication projects. Volunteers may assist with capturing photos at events, helping with social media, or creating visual materials that communicate what God is doing at Kirkwood.

BUILDING & GROUNDS TEAM
The Building and Grounds Team helps care for the physical spaces God has provided for our church. Volunteers may assist with landscaping, seasonal projects, small repairs, and occasional workdays that help maintain and improve the property.
